Bank Holiday Ice Creams

Today I went to St Albans with my friends for ice cream in the park. I love St Albans, the town is so pretty with lovely shops and the park with the Cathedral is lovely for a walk or to chill in.

It was very busy because of the lovely weather, with lots of families enjoying picnics, playing ball games and also people with small motorised sailing boats on the lake.

We enjoyed the traditional ice cream from Inn on the Park, it was Kelly's of Cornwall Whip with a flake - mmmm!

Now to my outfit: I wore Aztec trousers from Topshop with a plain black top and denim jacket. I love the trousers from Topshop they are so comfy and are great when the weather is sunny but not hot enough to get your legs out!! Unfortunately I couldn't find a link to them online, however a similar can be seen here.   I teamed the trousers with a plain top from H&M, these plain strappy tops are a necessity in the wardrobe and I have many in different colours. I got my denim jacket last year in H&M for only £9.99 - bargain! I think denim jackets again are brilliant for when the weather is not too hot!

My shoes are from Office featured in my Kimono blog post. They are super comfortable and are summer necessit - I think the colour is very different!

Finally the nail paint:

Finger Nails - OPI: Minnie Mightie Bow
Toe Nails - Barry M: Gelly Hi Shine Plum
Now back to work tomorrow :( What a lovely bank holiday weekend! xoxo

Kimono Loving

Kimono's are very on trend this season and I was lucky enough to get one from my sister for my birthday. This one is from River Island and I think I am in love!!

I wore it today with jeans, a plain top and sandals, however I think it will look great when the weather is hotter with some denim shorts or even over a bikini.

I think this is why I love them so much as they are so versatile. They make any outfit look instantly smarter but then can also be more casual over a bikini by the swimming pool.

I cannot wait for summer when I can wear this even more, I am even on the hunt for another one to add to my collection!

Kimono - River Island
Jeans - Topshop
Sandals - Office
Top - H&M
Sunglasses - Primark
Scrunchie - Forever21
Necklace - Monki

My jeans have featured in another post and I love them a bit too much, Topshop jeans fit perfectly and I love this highwaisted pair. The sandals I got for my birthday also, I think the colour is very different and will go with anything in the summer. I could not find the Kimono on River Islands website, however there is a similar  here! I have recently discovered Monki on Carnaby Street in London and think it is a great shop. The items are very different and there are things you wouldn't find anywhere else. If you are ever visiting London I would recommend popping in!

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend xoxo

I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22!

On Wednesday I turned the grand age of 22! For my birthday we visited Jamie's Italian in St Albans. I have never been to a Jamie's Italian before and it was nice to try somewhere new.

Dress - Topshop £45 now £15
Necklace - Forever 21 £8.40
Watch - River Island £15
Boots - Matalan £24

The restaurant is situated on the main road and is very big! The main part of the restaurant was completely full so we were sat in a separate section, which was nice. The atmosphere was nice with lively music playing and an open kitchen to see what the chefs were cooking.

For starter my family and I shared a couple of plates, we enjoyed the famous meat plank, crispy tomato and mozzarella risotto balls and a selection of breads. This was all delicious especially the risotto balls and the creamy mozzarella cheese that came with the meat plank.

For main I chose the Rabbit Ragu (Wild Rabbit Casarecce). My manager at work recommended this to me and I am glad she did because it was simply delicious. There were not many ingredients in the dish but the flavours were lovely.

However my highlight was the cocktail that I drank. I picked the cocktail named 'Florence Fizz' that Jamie created in his Bath restaurant. The cocktail was made up of Limoncello, pomegranate juice, elder flower cordial and Prossecco. When it arrived the pink from the pomegranate was separate from the rest and it looked so pretty! The taste was delicious and I could've drank many many more! I cannot wait to go back just to have the cocktail! However I may try to recreate it at home first! It is the perfect summer drink.

The evening finished with chocolate and Oreo birthday cake that my mum made for me. It was lovely, very rich and chocolaty, perfect for a chocoholic like myself!

Everything will be alright if we just keep dancing like we're 22 :) xoxo

Pineapple Obsession

I have recently noticed a tropical print theme running throughout the high street, especially pineapples.

On a recent trip to Forever 21, I actually picked up a pineapple print item myself.

I am loving this fresh summer look, not only because I love pineapples but because the pineapple adds bright colours to your summer outfit to complete the tropical look.

I have pulled together my favorite pineapple print items that will be perfect for the summer. My favourite item is the Topshop jeans, these would look great with a crop top and some sandals on a summers evening.

Things I'm Loving - March

So I thought I would do another post and make this a blogging tradition for me!
March has gone super quick, and it only seems yesterday that I was writing this for February! However here are a couple of my faves from March! :)

1) Scrunchies

So it looks like my favorite hair accessory from the 90's is back for 2014 and I am absolutely loving it! I have a couple of scrunchies and cannot seem to wear a ponytail without one now! I have a navy 'bunny' scrunchie from H and M (below) and some neon ones too from Forever 21 (which can be seen in my previous blog post). I think they look great for the spring/summer and will brighten any outfit. I already want some more and here are my faves!

H and M - £3.99

Topshop Gimham Scrunchie - £4.00

Topshop Colour Border Scrunchie - £4.00

Urban Outfitters Vintage Renewal Scrunhies in Floral - £4.00

Urban Outfitters Floral and Geo Print Scrunhies - Was £8.00 Now £4.00

2) Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

I am so happy this is back on the screen, to make any Saturday night better! I think the two of them are brilliant and not to forget little Ant and Dec! I particularly like 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Ear!', I think this idea is fantastic and utterly hilarious!!

3) TOWIE

I am not ashamed to admit - I LOVE TOWIE! I am so happy the new series has started and look forward to my Wednesday and Sunday nights to snuggle up and watch all the dramas unfold. I think one of the main reasons I love this show so much is because of the amazing eye candy, particularly Mario, Dan and Lewis. My favourite story line so far has been Fran and Diags' relationship blossoming, I think they make a cute couple and Diags deserves someone amazing. I have to admit I cannot get enough of the drama and of course the many fights, fallout's and breakups!

4) Sunshine

We have been very lucky with the sunny weather weekend, and me and my friends and family have made the most of the weather, from chilling in pub gardens, picnics, walks and bike rides. Its not very often England gets any sunshine, so we like to make the most of it when it arrives! However seeing girls in short shorts is taking it a bit too far, its only March!

5) Friends

This may sound cheesy but this month has also shown me that my girls are the best therapy you need! Just seeing them and spending time with my friends makes everything better. I think sometimes I take them for granted which I shouldn't do and this month has shown me to make the most of any opportunity with them. <3

6) Danio Yogurts

This may seem very random, but in March I have completely addicted to the new Danio yogurts which had been widely advertised. There are many flavours to choose from and I cannot quite decide my favourite but all are delicious! These are strained yogurts and are high in protein and low in fat. The yogurt is super thick and there is a fruit layer at the bottom of the yogurt. I would recommend trying one of these for your lunch!

What have been your highlights from March or what are you looking forward to in April? xoxo

Spring Wardrobe - Forever 21 & Topshop

So yesterday was officially the first day of spring so I have decided to share with you my recent purchases to brighten up my wardrobe and bring some colour to my outfits.

Last week myself and a friend headed to Oxford Street in the sunshine! We started in Topshop and walked down Oxford Street ending at Forever 21.

I have a love hate relationship with Forever 21. Sometimes I go and come out with nothing, or something I go and come out with an array of new clothes. Luckily this time was a success, and I was completely in love with everything in the shop! I knew it was going to be as success as soon as I walked in and picked up the aztec crop top below instantly!

Aztec Crop Top - Forever 21 - £5.50
Cream crop top - Forever 21 - £8.75
Set 3 scrunchies - Forever 21 - £1

My favourite item was the neon green skirt, it is made of a strange material and has a skater skirt feel to it, but also body con too! It was only £10.50 a complete bargain! Perfect to wear on a night out with a crop top and heels. When the weather gets hotter in the summer the skirt will be ideal with a beautiful necklace and some sandals.

Neon green skirt - Forever 21 - £10.50

I also treated myself to two flower necklaces, ideal for Spring/Summer 2014. The necklaces in forever 21 are excellent value and their collection was amazing, there was lots to choose from and I wanted them all! I cannot wait to go back to pick up some more! I think I have a slight addiction to costume jewellery!

Forever 21 - £8.40

Forever 21 - £11.65

Finally from Forever 21 I also bough a plain cream crop top (picture can be seen at the top), this is a very versatile item and will look great with a chunky necklace and some shorts in the summer, or some jeans when its cooler.

From Topshop I treated myself to a pair of light blue 'Joni' jeans. I think Topshop make the best jeans around, and they always fit me perfectly. The Joni jeans were no exception and are the perfect highwaisted skinny jeans.I think the light denim is perfect for spring. They look great with the pineapple top (from Forever 21) tucked into them, with some ballet pumps.

Topshop - Joni Jeans £36
Forever 21 - £7.25

I also bought a white basic crop top from Topshop. I recently bought some short denim dungarees off eBay and think the white crop top will be perfect to wear underneath the dungarees in the summer with a pair of converse!

Topshop - £10
I think these perchases will be perfect in the sunshine and I cannot wait for the sun to come back out so I can wear them! Where have you been shopping recently and what was your favourite purchase?

Happy sunny shopping! xoxo

Things I'm Loving - February

So February has gone pretty quick and we are suddenly into March.I thought I would take a look back at things I loved in February.

1) Jumpers

I love jumpers without hoods at the moment, and my wardrobe seems to be full of them. As we are slowing arriving into spring, jumpers are great as they keep your warm but a coat isn't needed I just sling on my leather jacket from Warehouse. My favorite 3 jumpers are below:

Star Wars - Darth Vader - from work
Bicycles - Camden Market
Jumper - H&M
Necklace - H&M
Leather Jacket - Warehouse
Leggings - River Island
Trainers - New Balance
Bag - Forever 21
Scarf - H&M

2) Chunky necklaces

I cannot seem to get enough of chunky jewellery, it can be added to any outfit to make a statement. A plain black dress with an added necklace can complete the outfit. My favorite necklaces can be seen below:

Topshop
River Island

3) Treggings

They aren't trousers, but they are not leggings - treggings! I am loving on these at the moment and think they look great to work but also on a night out. I wore my treggings from River island on a night out in London.

Crop top - Topshop
Treggings - River Island
Heels - New Look
4) Tartan

Tartan is for life and not just for Christmas.
I recently wore a tartan bow in my hair to work, and had many comments throughout the day telling me that Christmas was over. I love tartan and think it should be wore all year round. I particularly love my tartan treggings from Topshop. I team these with a plain black top, or black leotard, chunky gold necklace and heeled black boots or pumps.

Topshop

5) eBay

I am loving eBay at the moment to sell unwanted books, clothes, gadgets etc. For the past couple of weekends it has been free to list items, which is great!
A couple of tips for you. The best time for an item to end is on a Sunday night at around 6/7pm. Therefore put your item for sale on a Sunday night for 7 days or a Thursday night for 10 days. This will ensure that the item ends at peak time so that you will hopefully make the most money. You want to avoid having your item finish at an awkward time of the day where people will forget about your item or be busy. Also ensure that you take clear pictures of the item you want to sell and give an accurate and honest description of the item - you don't want to receive a bad review!

6) The Brit Awards

Who didn't love the Brits! James Corden's last year, Beyonce's stunning performance and the weird acceptance speach from Alex Turner. It gets better and better every year, and this year sure did not disappoint. Did you agree with the winners?

7) Secrets of South America with Billie JD Porter

This was a 3 part series shown on BBC 3 and I was absolutely hooked. With the upcoming Football World Cup and the Olympics being hosted in Brazil, Billie travel's to South America to see what it is like to live there. The documentary is fascinating and looks at the extremes some young women go to enter beauty pageants, how the young generation of South America are very sexually active and experimental and also the amazing coming of age parties thrown for 15 year olds. I would thoroughly recommend watching this very insightful documentary into the lives of those living in South America, to those living in extreme poverty in the slums to the very wealthy.

8) Clean Bandit - Rather Be

I was loving this song in February, it is very catchy and spent 4 weeks at number 1. I would be very surprised if you haven't heard it!

Let's see what March has in store for us! :)

xoxo
